Partnership

Partnerships formed across the economic, social and environmental sectors are an essential ingredient to PBRS, and are crucial to taking forward and effectively implementing any PBRS project.

The PBRS was originally created by a powerful partnership that included the Forestry Commission, the Northwest Regional Development Agency and TEP. The application and further development of PBRS was then assisted by a host of partner organisations helping to deliver the Newlands scheme, notably Groundwork and the Red Rose and Mersey Community Forests.

As the PBRS has evolved, it has also proved to be a useful partnership building tool: bringing together different sectors and interests to identify and assess areas with the greatest potential to generate combined social, economic and environmental benefits. A whole host of organisations have been involved in the work, both as funding partners and as steering group members, helping to guide, inform and enable the development of PBRS.

Please see contacts lists and individual case studies for a full list of partners.
