PBRS II - Layer Model
The determination of public benefit potential using the area-based PBRS approach is encapsulated, in its simplest terms, by the concept model that comprises four distinct layers of spatial and location-specific information within a geographic grid.
There are, however, underlying complexities within each layer of the model that can be modified and manipulated to perform required analytical and presentational functions. In conceptual terms, each layer can be 'exploded' in to a series of bands that represent the underlying datasets. In addition, filters or benchmarks can be applied to some of the datasets and layers to refine or focus the pictorial representation of the data.
